ORIGIN OF AYURVEDA

ब्रह्मा स्मृत्वाऽऽयुषो वेदं प्रजापतिमजिग्रहत्। सोऽश्विनौ तौ सहस्राक्षं सोऽत्रिपुत्रादिकान्मुनीन् ॥ तेऽग्निवेशादिकांस्ते तु पृथक् तन्त्राणि तेनिरे।

Brahma first recollects the Ayurveda Shastra in His mind during his meditation and then taught it to Daksha Prajapati. Daksha Prajapati taught Ashwini Kumars, Ashwini Kumars taught Devrar Indra, he taught Atriputra (Punarvasu Atreya) and other great sages; Atri etc. taught Agnivesh, Bhed, Jatukarna, Parashar, Harit, Ksharpani etc. and then Agnivesh and other great sages composed different tantras (Ayurveda Shastras) in detail.

Statement-This is the Avtaranika of Vagbhatokta Ayurveda. In Ayurveda Shastra, these Avtaranikas are available in different forms. They are also found independently in the Puranas. It is said in Charak-Chikitsa-Sthan A0 1 Pad 43 that once many Maharishis like Bhrigu, Angira, Atri, Vasistha, Kashyap, Agastya, Pulastya, Vamdev, Asit, Gautam etc. went to Devraj Indra to listen to the teachings related to Ayurveda. In Sushruta-Sutrasthan 113, Dhanvantari etc. had received the knowledge of Ayurveda from Devraj Indra. In that period, Shriti (listening) and Smriti (remembering) were the only ways to acquire and accumulate knowledge.

so Ayurveda is created by brahma ( creator of universe ). Ayurveda is just not 5000 year old science its there from beginning of universe and its most popular among gods to treatment themselves. their are lots of real story in veda are there which proves Ayurveda is there from beginning of universe.
